We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing company operating a modern fleet of Scania and Volvo HGVs, supplying primary and recycled aggregates to the construction industry across Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join a stable and reputable business where your skills will be valued and rewarded.

?? The Role

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGVs and plant equipment, ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on diesel engines

Diagnosing mechanical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment

Completing PMIs (Planned Maintenance Inspections)

Fabrication and welding of components where required

Working safely with hand and power tools

Supporting workshop efficiency and minimising vehicle downtime

? What Were Looking For

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic / HGV Technician or similar

Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Experience with fabrication and welding (advantageous)

Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on, heavy-duty work

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Experience working with Scania and Volvo HGVs would be highly desirable.

Competitive daily rate: £180

£350 per day (DOE)

MON - FRIDAY 6AM TO 5PM

Full-time, stable employment
