Our client, a major UK retail bank, provides every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking.

On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Data Engineer for a 12 month contract based in London or Edinburgh with remote work available (hybrid)

Purpose of the Role:

You will help drive the build of effortless, digital first customer experiences, simplifying the organisation by developing innovative data-driven solutions through data pipelines, modelling and ETL design, inspiring to be commercially successful through insight and keep the clients customers, and the organisation's data safe and secure.As a Data Engineer you will be responsible for:

Drive customer value by understanding complex business problems and requirements to correctly apply the most appropriate and reusable tool to gather and build data solutions.
Participate actively in the data engineering community to deliver opportunities to support the group's strategic direction.
Carry out complex data engineering tasks to build a scalable data architecture.
Build advanced automation of data engineering pipelines through removal of manual stages.What we require from the candidate:

Modelling and ETL design.
Creating Data pipelines.
Good hands-on knowledge on AWS/Cloud services like S3, EMR, orchestration services like Airflow, Datawarehouse - Snowflake.
Experience in migration projects from on-prem to cloud.
Hands-on experience with data warehousing and visualization tech stack like Tableau & Power BI.
Technical expertise in data engineering tech stack like Spark distributed computing, SQL, Python.Next steps

This client will only accept workers operating via an Umbrella or PAYE engagement model.
