Edge and embedded pay turns on how close the role is to shipped hardware and on whether the company has devices in the field. An advert that names the band and says which — bring-up on new silicon, or a fleet already deployed — draws the engineers who have done that work; one that hides the number reads as a prototype still looking for a budget.
