This is an exciting opportunity for a physiotherapist to join the forward thinkingCommunity Adult Learning Disability Team.

The post is suitable for physiotherapists from a wide range of backgrounds including band 5 physiotherapists who have completed their core rotations, band 6 physiotherapists interested in specialising in this area and those who are already working within the specialism.

You will work collaboratively with the Flintshire Learning Disability Team in a supportive environment to acquire and develop knowledge and skillsrelated to treating adults with a learning disability who have complex physical and postural management needs.

A willingness and desire to learn is essential for this post. You will be supported in this by seniormembers of the team/clinical specialist.

We have an active commitment to supporting and encouraging staff in their professional development. You would also be supported to attendexternal training.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced and dynamic physiotherapist with the desire to specialise within this field.

We are a small established team providing physiotherapy to adults with learning disabilities in the county of Flintshire.

You will be working to provide and continually develop a service for our clients in a community setting.

This post is an ideal opportunity for a clinician to further develop their skills within this specialist field.

Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable.

You must have experience and skills working with people withcomplex physical and postural management needs and/or other relevant experience. E.g. Neuro-rehab, paediatrics, mental health or communityrehab.

You will have worked in a broad range of clinical settings and have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities

• To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in a static position with BCUHB.
• To carry a patient caseload including those with physical and psychological problems in area of speciality; some of whom may have a level of complexity; team leader; clinical specialist or advanced practitioner available for clinical support.
• To assess and treat patients using specialist clinical reasoning skills.
• To provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
• To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

Person SpecificationQualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy o HCPC registration oEvidence of CPD in Physiotherapy in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio. oPostgraduate training courses
• Membership of appropriate professional post-graduate training body oRelevant Special/Clinical interest group membership oClinical educators course

Experience

• Significant Post Registration Experience oEvidence of core rotations
• Experience of contribution to CNG or working parties. oExperience in the relevant speciality oExperience of working in an NHS environment as physiotherapist and MDT/ multi-agency working where relevant
