Role
- Substantive Consultant Cardiothoracic Anaesthetist with a special interest in thoracic anaesthesia to help drive our minimally invasive thoracic surgery programme forward

Key Responsibilities
- Providing evidence-based care
- Working clinically in cardiothoracic critical care
- Working collaboratively with a variety of colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Covering on-call across our cardiothoracic theatres, cardiac critical care and cardiology intervention services – so ideally you should live within 10 miles of Basildon Hospital, or 30 minutes travelling time
- Developing your interests and specialisation within cardiothoracic anaesthesia, & Critical Care including active participation in research programmes

Qualifications
- GMC registered, with FRCA (or equivalent) and specialist registration (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Experience in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and critical care
- Commitment to multidisciplinary teamwork, teaching, and research
- Enthusiasm for service development and innovation
- For the substantive post: a keen interest in thoracic anaesthesia is highly desirable
