  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach through to solution presentation and closing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project outcomes

  • Interpret mechanical and electrical specifications, schematics, and tender documentation to produce accurate cost estimates and quotations for BMS installations

  • Prepare competitive proposals, bids, and tenders that reflect the technical scope, labour, and materials, tailored to each client's operational and energy objectives

  • Conduct on-site assessments and technical feasibility studies to determine optimal system configurations and ensure effective integration

  • Deliver technical support and consultancy to clients, assisting them in understanding BMS functionality, interoperability, and performance outcomes

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure sales commitments are technically deliverable and commercially viable

  • Act as a liaison between sales and engineering, translating client expectations into technical specifications and supporting project delivery teams to maintain continuity and compliance

  • Stay informed on product developments, system architecture innovations, and emerging market trends—particularly around Distech, Trend, Siemens, Tridium, Delta, iSMA, and cloud-integrated solutions

  • Support internal training and client onboarding activities by delivering product demonstrations and tailored knowledge-sharing sessions

  • Provide regular sales performance updates, pipeline forecasts, and market insights to the commercial leadership team

    Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in technical sales within the BMS, controls, or HVAC sector, ideally with a background in estimation and system design

  • Solid understanding of smart building technologies, energy management systems, and IoT integration within the built environment

  • Familiarity with relevant hardware and software platforms used in modern BMS installations, including open protocol systems and cloud-based analytics

  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to negotiate, influence, and build rapport across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional project and sales teams

You’ll be reporting into the senior leadership team and collaborating closely with both engineering and delivery teams – ensuring client satisfaction is front and centre from pre-sales through to final handover.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on technical problem-solving and is passionate about helping clients make smarter, more sustainable buildings.

Edge‑Computing Jobs for Non‑Technical Professionals: Where Do You Fit In?

Opportunity at the Network’s Edge From autonomous buses in Sunderland to smart‑factory robots in Coventry, edge computing is moving data processing closer to where it’s generated—slashing latency and unlocking real‑time insights. IDC forecasts that 35 % of enterprise workloads will run on edge platforms by 2027, while Vodafone is rolling out 36 UK multi‑access edge‑compute (MEC) zones. Yet most headlines still focus on Kubernetes operators and 5G radio engineers, leaving many professionals asking, “Is there a place for me if I don’t write code?” Absolutely. Research by TechUK’s UK Edge Skills Survey 2024 found that 41 % of edge‑related vacancies emphasise business, compliance or project skills over deep tech. If you excel at site operations, product strategy or partner management, this guide shows where you fit in—no containers required.

Oracle Edge‑Computing Jobs in 2025: Your Complete UK Guide to Building the Next‑Generation Cloud at the Edge

When people hear "Oracle" they often think databases. But in 2025 the company’s fastest‑growing business units sit inside Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)—especially its Edge Cloud, Roving Edge Infrastructure and Compute Cloud@Customer offerings. At Oracle CloudWorld 2024 the firm announced new edge IaaS appliances and direct‑to‑satellite networking that push compute, storage and AI acceleration closer to where data is generated. (blogs.oracle.com) For UK technologists this shift translates into hundreds of open roles—from kernel‑level engineers crafting OCI’s low‑latency stack to field specialists installing ruggedised edge clusters on oil rigs and 5G cells. This guide tells you everything you need to land an Oracle edge‑computing job in 2025.

Edge Computing vs. Fog Computing vs. Cloud Computing Jobs: Which Path Should You Choose?

With the exponential growth of the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G networks, and real-time data applications, Edge Computing has emerged as a revolutionary approach to processing data closer to the source. By reducing latency and bandwidth usage, edge computing enables a host of new use cases—from autonomous vehicles to industrial automation—while powering data-driven insights on the spot. If you’ve been exploring Edge Computing jobs on www.edgecomputingjobs.co.uk, you might also have seen positions mentioning Fog Computing and Cloud Computing. While these terms sometimes overlap or are used interchangeably, each has a distinct focus and plays a unique role in distributed computing architectures. So how do Edge, Fog, and Cloud really differ? And which career path is best suited to your skill set and interests? This comprehensive guide demystifies the three domains, outlining their core concepts, typical responsibilities, overlapping vs. distinctive skill sets, salary ranges, and real-world examples. By the end, you’ll have a clearer understanding of where you can thrive—whether you’re drawn to the cutting-edge world of real-time edge analytics, the network-level orchestration of fog computing, or the centralised, high-scale infrastructure of the cloud.
