Mobile BMS Engineer

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Are you a technically minded sales professional with a deep understanding for smart building solutions and Building Management Systems? We're seeking a dynamic and driven BMS & Smart Building Sales Engineer to join a forward-thinking systems integrator, supporting ambitious growth plans through strategic sales, expert technical consultation, and first-class client service.

This is an outstanding opportunity to play a key role in shaping how intelligent buildings operate, working across a diverse customer base—from M&E contractors and FM providers to retailers and consultants.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Identify and engage with prospective clients across construction, FM, M&E, retail, and consultancy sectors to promote advanced BMS and smart building solutions

  • Lead the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach through to solution presentation and closing, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and project outcomes

  • Interpret mechanical and electrical specifications, schematics, and tender documentation to produce accurate cost estimates and quotations for BMS installations

  • Prepare competitive proposals, bids, and tenders that reflect the technical scope, labour, and materials, tailored to each client's operational and energy objectives

  • Conduct on-site assessments and technical feasibility studies to determine optimal system configurations and ensure effective integration

  • Deliver technical support and consultancy to clients, assisting them in understanding BMS functionality, interoperability, and performance outcomes

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project delivery teams to ensure sales commitments are technically deliverable and commercially viable

  • Act as a liaison between sales and engineering, translating client expectations into technical specifications and supporting project delivery teams to maintain continuity and compliance

  • Stay informed on product developments, system architecture innovations, and emerging market trends—particularly around Distech, Trend, Siemens, Tridium, Delta, iSMA, and cloud-integrated solutions

  • Support internal training and client onboarding activities by delivering product demonstrations and tailored knowledge-sharing sessions

  • Provide regular sales performance updates, pipeline forecasts, and market insights to the commercial leadership team

    Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in technical sales within the BMS, controls, or HVAC sector, ideally with a background in estimation and system design

  • Solid understanding of smart building technologies, energy management systems, and IoT integration within the built environment

  • Familiarity with relevant hardware and software platforms used in modern BMS installations, including open protocol systems and cloud-based analytics

  • Strong commercial acumen, with an ability to negotiate, influence, and build rapport across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple opportunities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment

  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional project and sales teams

You’ll be reporting into the senior leadership team and collaborating closely with both engineering and delivery teams – ensuring client satisfaction is front and centre from pre-sales through to final handover.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on technical problem-solving and is passionate about helping clients make smarter, more sustainable buildings.

Quantum-Enhanced AI at the Edge: The Future of Decentralised Intelligence

As the modern world pushes towards instant data processing and real-time analytics, edge computing has emerged as a compelling solution. Instead of funnelling every piece of data to centralised data centres or the cloud, edge computing brings computation closer to the data source—reducing latency, lowering bandwidth costs, and enabling on-the-spot decision-making. From IoT sensors in smart cities to autonomous vehicles and remote industrial sites, the edge has quickly become a linchpin of digital transformation. Simultaneously, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has shown explosive growth, driving breakthroughs in natural language processing, computer vision, and advanced analytics. Cloud-based AI solutions have served organisations well, but in scenarios demanding ultra-low latency or local autonomy, the cloud’s round-trip time becomes a bottleneck. Hence, edge AI—embedding AI models at or near the point of data collection—promises a new wave of hyper-responsive applications and decentralised intelligence. Yet, as we continue pushing the boundaries of data volume, complexity, and speed, even advanced edge solutions sometimes struggle with the exponential computational requirements of AI. This is where quantum computing enters the picture, potentially offering new methods to tackle intractable problems in optimisation, high-dimensional data analysis, and machine learning. While quantum hardware remains in its early stages, the prospect of integrating quantum algorithms into AI workflows at the edge is generating significant excitement. In this article, we’ll explore: The current state and challenges of edge computing. A concise overview of quantum computing and why it matters. The concept of quantum-enhanced AI—especially in distributed or decentralised environments. Potential real-world applications at the intersection of quantum, AI, and edge computing. Key job roles and skill sets emerging in this new frontier. Considerations around security, ethics, and hardware constraints as we move towards quantum solutions at the edge. If you’re a professional in edge computing, an AI enthusiast, or simply curious about what the future of decentralised tech might look like, read on. The fusion of quantum computing and AI at the network edge could redefine how we collect, process, and learn from data in real time.
