Are you passionate about the future of Smart Buildings and integrated technology? We are seeking an experienced Smart Buildings Technical Project Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and optimising cutting-edge building systems.

In this role, you’ll oversee the design, delivery, commissioning, and ongoing operation of innovative smart building projects - ensuring they deliver exceptional performance, energy efficiency, and user experience. From BMS and EMS to lighting controls, IoT sensors, vertical transport, and advanced building data integration, you’ll be at the forefront of transforming the built environment into intelligent, future-ready spaces.

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical foundation and passion for Smart Building technologies, ideally with experience across the following:

Proven experience working with or as a Master Systems Integrator, with a strong understanding of Smart Building integration.

Expertise with Secure MQTT, building data communications, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including data migration to lakes.
A track record in the design, installation, commissioning, and optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS) across multiple platforms.
Solid knowledge of the project lifecycle, from design development and cost planning to procurement, delivery, and maintenance.
Experience integrating Operational Technologies (OT) such as lighting control systems, AV, electronic security, and IoT sensors (occupancy, air quality, energy).
A strong understanding of industry standards and data ontologies (BRICK Schema, Project Haystack, DBO, ISO 19650, UDMI, BDNS).
Knowledge of Smart building performance standards (WELL, NABERS, SmartScore, WiredScore) and how Smart technologies support compliance, analytics, and sustainability goals.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and delivery partners across complex projects.
What You’ll Be Doing

Leading projects end-to-end: Overseeing design, vendor management, integration, and maintenance of Smart Building systems.
Driving technical excellence: Managing compliance, commissioning, FAT testing, and risk assessments.
Collaborating with partners and stakeholders: Coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, delivery partners, and subcontractors to ensure seamless execution.
Supporting business growth: Contributing to proposals, technical submissions, and tender responses with accurate technical documentation and bills of materials.
Championing innovation and sustainability: Implementing solutions that meet evolving standards such as WELL, NABERS, SmartScore, and WiredScore.
Ensuring commercial success: Planning resources, manage budgets, monitor KPIs, and ensure cost control.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, engineering, and operations. If you’re ready to lead on Smart Building integration and deliver high-performing, sustainable, and connected spaces

The successful applicant will benefit from:

23 days holiday plus bank holidays
Health & wellbeing support including Group Income Protection, Life Assurance, Remote GP and Mental Health support.
Health Cash Plan to help with everyday healthcare costs.
Enhanced family-friendly policies and generous parental pay.

Where to Advertise Edge Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise edge computing jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and channels that reach embedded, IoT, 5G MEC and edge AI engineering talent. Edge computing sits at the intersection of embedded systems, networking, cloud infrastructure and real-time data processing — and the professionals who specialise in it are a small, highly technical community not well served by general job boards. Candidates with genuine edge and IoT expertise are rarely browsing general platforms, and roles in this space are frequently misunderstood or miscategorised by non-specialist recruiters. This guide, published by EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise edge computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
