Our Northeast and Yorkshire Buildings MEP team are looking for a motivated self-starter with extensive design engineering experience in a wide range of project sectors from education, industrial, healthcare and commercial project experience. This role will require individuals to collaborate and communicate effectively both internally and externally as part of a multi-disciplinary team. We are seeking a driven, team oriented individual who excels in communication, problem-solving attention to detail.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ability to work client facing solving problems and assembling, running a team. Planning and leading abilities required to ensure projects are managed and ensure quality throughout the project duration.
  • Ability to collaborate with client and other external project team members as well as other Stantec disciplines to achieve project success acting as either project team member or leader.
  • Ability to apply skills to complete project design and coordinate the project to provide all necessary project documentation in the form of drawings, schematics calculations and associated schedules and specification documents.
  • Carry out site surveys and non-intrusive investigations to facilitate associated reports and/or design packages to complete project requirements.
  • Effectively communicate with other team members both internally and externally.
  • Manage and lead all mechanical aspects of projects.
  • Provide technical expertise, mentoring and support to team members.
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control on projects both those they are involved with as well as projects within the wider MEP team.
  • Develop project scope, budgets and design approach for all size projects.
Capabilities:
  • Strong Leadership Skill, proven ability to lead projects and activities.
  • Strong collaborative skills while working within single or multi-discipline teams.
  • Ability to follow instructions and quality control guidance and be adaptable to Stantec’s prescribed strategy.
  • Understanding of the importance of HSSE guidelines and Stantec’s specific Employee Health and Safety Program focusing on safety in the field.
  • Desire to be mentored by senior staff and provide mentoring or coaching others adapting to and providing feedback allowing individuals to strengthen and grow the culture and competency of the broader team.
Education Experience:
  • Minimum of bachelor’s Degree in associated Mechanical engineering from an accredited University.
  • Experience in creating tender documentation including detailed design drawings, schedules and associated calculations and specifications.
  • Chartered engineer or working towards chartership as a minimum.
