Senior Mechanical Supervisor

Hampton, Middlesex


This role is central to delivering mechanical installation works across framework projects. As Senior Mechanical Supervisor, you'll ensure safe, high-quality installation, support efficient commissioning, and maintain strong coordination with Project Managers, MEICA Leads, subcontractors and commissioning teams.


You'll be responsible for day-to-day supervision of mechanical works, ensuring compliance with client standards, supporting design development, and helping to deliver successful project handover. This role suits someone with strong water-industry mechanical experience who enjoys problem-solving, collaboration and leading teams on site.


What you'll be doing:

Mechanical Installation & Site Supervision



  • Lead the mechanical installation works on assigned projects, ensuring safe systems of work.
  • Ensure mechanical works meet programme requirements and support efficient commissioning.
  • Supervise mechanical subcontractors, maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance.
  • Review and authorise RAMS; conduct regular mechanical site safety inspections.
  • Ensure all mechanical testing, inspections and documentation follow the Inspection & Test Plan.

Design, Quality & Technical Compliance



  • Provide input to mechanical design requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure all mechanical installation meets client specifications, Asset Standards and WIMES where applicable.
  • Coordinate with specialist support functions (e.g., DSEAR, Technical Authors, Document Control).
  • Ensure O&M information and records are complete and issued appropriately.

Commissioning & Handover Support



  • Work closely with the MEICA/Commissioning team throughout commissioning stages.
  • Maintain snagging lists and drive completion of outstanding works.
  • Support reliability testing and integration with existing operational assets.
  • Assist with operational and maintenance activities before takeover.

Planning, Coordination & Communication



  • Ensure mechanical activities are aligned with the overall project programme.
  • Attend commissioning meetings and support updates to the MEICA/Commissioning programme.
  • Witness FAT testing as required.
  • Collaborate closely with the client's Asset Operations Team to support smooth integration.

About you:

The successful candidate should have:



  • Previous experience in the water industry.
  • Proven experience supervising mechanical installation through to successful project takeover.
  • Strong understanding of water-industry mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Experience leading teams on site and working directly with clients.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Good knowledge of water-industry processes.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office for reporting tasks.
  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • CSCS or ECS card.
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card.
  • SSSTS (minimum) or SMSTS (preferred).

The ideal successful candidate would have:



  • First Aid at Work.
  • DSEAR awareness.
  • CompEx (FxF or equivalent).
