In November 2023, MMB secured its first ever framework with South West Water, the company responsible for the water and wastewater services of 1.8 million customers in Cornwall, Devon, the Isles of Scilly and parts of Dorset and Somerset. The multi-million-pound AMP8 contract runs for five years to 2029 - with the potential for a further five-year extension - and sees us bring our track record of innovative project delivery to the south-west of England for the very first time. We've got a great opportunity to be innovative and creative in these new projects to deliver affordable solutions. We're already on site supporting the completion of an existing project and we're due to land new projects on site in 2025 as we continue to demonstrate to our client just what MMB is all about.

Senior Mechanical Engineer – you will work on projects that make a real difference to our environment and our communities, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of water and wastewater treatment systems. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the mechanical functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all mechanical aspects are meticulously considered and integrated.

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects through the outline and detailed design, construction, commissioning, and handover, including, but not limited to, P&IDs, valve schedules, pump calculations, defining safe access and lifting arrangements, above ground pipework layouts, etc.
• Coordinate with the project team comprising Electrical, Civil, Geotech and Process designers and ensure designs are completed on programme, within budget, and to the quality defined by framework specifications
• Work closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond
• Positively engage with the client, managing relationships and adopting a one-team approach to supporting them in achieving their aims
• Support the development of the mechanical engineering team, coaching and mentoring engineers to develop their skill set and identifying the correct resource for the projects

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Chartered or incorporated member of professional institution e.g ICE, IMechE, etc, or equivalent experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Methodical approach to problem solving
• A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region
