Senior Estates Officer (Mechanical)

We are seeking a suitably experienced Senior Estates Officer (Mechanical) at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Liverpool Women’s Hospital site. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust’s Operational Estates department.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver operational maintenance, Project Management and Statutory Compliance aspects of Estate Management.
  • Perform the role of Authorised Person (AP) for the Trust’s services and arrange and monitor specialist contracts to provide maintenance and validation.
  • Ensure that the Trust’s maintenance management systems reflect good practice in accordance with H&S legislation and HTMs.
  • Maintain delegated infrastructure services across Trust sites.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering. Experience in the technical operation and management of estates systems within a large organisation, managing specialist contractors along with directly employed staff. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and work effectively within a fast‑paced healthcare environment.


This post is open to employees of the five LAASP organisations (The Clatterbridge Centre, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, Liverpool University Hospitals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital or The Walton Centre) and requires confirmation via an IAT.


Hours are 37.5 hour week Monday – Friday with on‑call rota for out‑of‑hours emergency calls including some weekend and evening work. The role is based at the Royal Liverpool Hospital but will require travel across Trust sites.
