The Team

The Community Physiotherapy Team work across the Primary Health North sites which includes Community Health Centres and the district hospitals. Our team aim to provide physiotherapy services in the catchments that the client resides in.

The Community Physiotherapy team is a professional community of individuals who are committed to addressing the health needs of all Tasmanians through excellence in education, service delivery and proficient practice.


The Role

  • As part of the Community Physiotherapy team, and in accordance with organisational policies and professional code of ethics, be responsible for the efficient and effective provision of physiotherapy services to clients living in the community in the region.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in providing appropriate services to clients and patients at primary health sites, including referral to other services as required.
  • Participate in ongoing development and coordination of the services provided by Community Physiotherapists in the Northern area, including supervision and support of staff and students where required.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of policies and procedures, performance measures and reporting mechanisms for physiotherapy services provided by the Community Physiotherapy Service.
  • Contribute to health promotion within the region.
  • Maintain contemporary professional knowledge through applying evidence‑based practice and appropriate continuing professional development activities. Contribute to the provision of education programmes.

You will need

This is a senior physiotherapy position, so the incumbent requires strong clinical reasoning skills, be able to prioritise competing demands, and be confident working autonomously as well as in team. Teamwork, flexibility, strong communication, innovation and initiative are essential qualities for this role.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working 44 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date until 28 August 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.



  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.


Allowances

  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $119,290 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum

Eligibility

  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Physiotherapy Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia

  • Relevant postgraduate experience
