The North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (NIMS) is seeking a part‑time (22.5 hrs) Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner. The post will be considered for a developmental Band 7 to Band 8a depending on skills and experience. The successful candidate must evidence advanced skills as a senior clinician caring for patients with musculoskeletal pain, be able to work autonomously, and should have a strong desire to expand knowledge and skills.


Role responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of complex patients with a wide variety of physical & emotional needs.
  • Provide an initial differential diagnosis of a variety of MSK and spinal conditions and understand referral thresholds.
  • Order and interpret investigations including MRI, NCS, bloods, etc.
  • Support the delivery of structured interdisciplinary education for the team, providing day‑to‑day clinical support for physiotherapists and other health care professionals, both internal and external to the NIMS service.
  • Collaborate closely with uni/multi‑disciplinary teams and agencies to address a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of MSK and pain conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving population health and wellbeing.
  • Develop and deliver local and Trust‑wide projects.
  • Work with operational and clinical leadership to develop clinical pathways and strengthen links with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Perform joint injections as necessary – training will be provided.
