Full-time Motor Mechanic Lecturer/Tutor – Temporary to permanent role starting April 2026

Duties as Motor Mechanic Lecturer/Tutor

  • Deliver entry‑level to Level 1 Motor Mechanics teaching on a full‑time basis
  • Provide practical, low‑level instruction suitable for learners new to the subject
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet varied learning needs
  • Support learners with hands‑on mechanical skills, workshop safety, and basic diagnostics
  • Reinforce key employability skills and vocational knowledge
  • Assess learner understanding and provide verbal feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support consistent vocational delivery
  • Uphold safeguarding expectations and prioritise learner welfare

Ideal Motor Mechanic Lecturer/Tutor

  • QTS is not required
  • Strong background or industry experience in Motor Mechanics
  • Confident delivering practical instruction at beginner levels
  • Good communication and organisation skills
  • Able to motivate and support learners with varying levels of confidence and ability
  • Patient, practical, and proactive in workshop environments
  • Reliable, safety‑minded, and committed to learner development
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting learner well‑being

All candidates registering with Class Act are subject to safeguarding checks in line with the DfE’s statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education, including reference checks and an Enhanced DBS check either registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
