Please note – we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so applicants must have full right to work in the UK## Job DescriptionThis is a full-time, site-based role on Hinkley Point C, requiring candidates to be within commutable distance of Bridgwater or willing to relocate with support available. You will join your future team providing mechanical, welding, and fabrication assurance on a major nuclear construction project. The role blends mechanical design support with on-site engineering oversight in a highly regulated environment. Provide mechanical engineering support across design, construction, and installation phases Contribute to mechanical design activities including reviews, calculations, and design substantiation Review and approve welding procedures, qualifications, and fabrication documentation Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and design change documentation Oversee on-site welding and fabrication quality and inspection activities Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, EN, and BS standards Interface with contractors, designers, quality, and safety teams Promote nuclear safety culture and regulatory compliance## My profile Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification Experience supporting mechanical design within regulated engineering environments Experience on large, complex engineering or infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of welding processes and fabrication practices Familiarity with engineering standards, specifications, and quality documentation Understanding of inspection, traceability, and compliance requirements Strong technical writing and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively across design and site teams This role offers a rare balance of mechanical design involvement and site-based delivery on one of the UK’s most important infrastructure projects.
