Because of continued demand of their services, this employer is actively recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.


Working in the Service Department, the successful Mechanical Technician will work within a skilled team and be responsible for servicing, repairing and overhauling industrial gearboxes to an OEM condition.


This employer is based near CUMBERNAULD, meaning the successful candidate will easily be able to commute from various pars of Glasgow & Falkirk.


The ideal Mechanical Technician will possess:

  • NOT ESSENTIAL: Possess formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering or similar (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC, HNC, HND or equivalent)
  • Have stable work history with experience working as a Mechanical Technician, Fitter, Assembler or similar within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ideally have experience working with some form of rotating equipment, gearboxes, pumps, valves, compressors, turbines, fans or similar

Working Hours of the Mechanical Technician

Regular day shift working 39 hours per week



  • Monday to Thursday – 08:00 to 17:00
  • Friday – 08:00 to 15:45

In return, the Mechanical Technician will receive:

  • Staring Salary: Up to £32,000.00 (£15.77 per hour)
  • Guaranteed bonus up to £2,600 paid in December
  • Generous Pension Scheme: 25% Final Salary (Employer Contribution: 17% / Employee Contribution: 8%)
  • Holiday Allowance: 34 Days (including public holidays) rising with continued service
  • Ongoing training & skill development
