Salary: £45k to £50k dep on exp. + car allowance, pension, healthcare


An established, well respected M&E Contractor in the West Midlands, are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical Supervisor to join their team.


As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all mechanical work on our projects. Initially you will be predominantly working on an ongoing project at the QE Hospital.


Responsibility includes managing a team of HVAC engineers, ensuring all work is completed on time and within budget, and maintaining a high level of quality and safety standards. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any mechanical issues that may arise on site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of HVAC Engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently and effectively
  • Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments to meet deadlines and budget constraints
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work is being performed according to company and industry standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues that may arise on site
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and any changes made to the original plan
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and project managers to ensure smooth coordination between different trades and departments
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols on site
  • Communicate regularly with project managers to provide updates on project status and any issues that may arise

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher or a time-served apprenticeship
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role in the mechanical industry
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC & plumbing
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols in the construction industry
