Company Overview

Sleaford Building Services have an opening within our Site Division for a Mechanical Supervisor.


SBS are a design and build MEP and Construction contractor specialising in quality engineering solutions throughout the UK.


SBS was established in 2003 and has since grown to become one of the largest independent Mechanical, Electrical and Construction contractors in the East Midlands. We are an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) owned business based in Heckington who offer a unique service founded on engineering expertise.


To complement our historic M&E heritage SBS created and developed an in-house construction section which now includes civils to enable a turnkey to all projects.


In this time, we have worked closely with a multitude of clients to deliver tailor‑made MEP installations to most sectors in the UK.

Summary

A supervisor is a fundamental part of the company to facilitate the smooth running of projects and ensure Health and Safety compliance. This is a key supervisory role, which will involve the responsibility for day‑to‑day delivery of mechanical works. The successful candidate will have an in‑depth experience performing a range of mechanical duties, as well as experience in a supervisor position. Work will be conducted across several sites throughout the country – working away from home may be required.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing and implementing Health and Safety procedures on site
  • Ensure that direct labour and subcontractors deliver works within the requirements of the project specification and drawings
  • Assist project quantity surveyor in the formulation of interim and final accounts both upstream and downstream
  • Measure and procure materials plant and labour on projects in support of project manager
  • Ensure a quality product is delivered for all our customers
  • Carry out construction programming and prepare works schedules
  • Work within parameters of the company's Quality and Environmental System procedures
  • Work within the parameters of the company Health and Safety policy
  • Producing spool drawings for office manufacture

Required Skillset

  • SMSTS or SSSTS
  • CSCS Supervisor card
  • First Aid
  • A multi‑skilled trade background‑ experience working within the commercial sector
  • Proven experience supervising mechanical works on construction projects
  • Confident leadership style, with excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure

Advantageous Skillset

  • IPAF
  • PASMA
  • Previous security clearance
  • Trade qualification
