Overview

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, servicing, and repairs of mechanical systems and equipment such as HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and other mechanical assets.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance to ensure the ongoing reliability and efficiency of mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to mechanical faults, breakdowns, and emergency situations, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, and determine the most effective course of action for repair.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely resolution of mechanical issues and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment data, and any necessary documentation.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and regulations at all times, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and those around you.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, advances in mechanical technology, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar role, ideally within a facilities management or property services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC systems, pumps, motors, and associated controls.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, and conducting planned preventative maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work swiftly under pressure to resolve issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • Flexibility to work on shifts and participate in an on-call rota.
