Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Research and Development Lead on behalf of an exciting biotechnology start-up in Newcastle on a permanent basis. Our client is an expanding business within the molecular diagnostics research and development space. They are pioneering nanotechnology with AI-driven innovation to deliver biosensing solutions.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Location: This is a full-time office base position in central Newcastle.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will play a key role in leading engineering projects on behalf of the business.
  • Lead projects and support team members to achieve overall project goals.
Qualifications / About you
  • Degree background in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Industry experience in mechanical and hardware design within a start-up environment. Life Sciences, Biotechnology or Medical Devices industries would be a strong advantage.
  • Opto-mechanical design experience such as microscopy alignment, lens, cameras, and imaging systems would be desirable.
  • The ability to lead engineering projects and support team members to achieve overall project goals.
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced start-up environment, with a willingness to be involved in a variety of tasks.
