Due to continued growth, an established and reputable organisation within the Construction and Facilities Management sector is seeking a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team.


This is an excellent opportunity to join a business delivering high-quality construction, fit-out and facilities management solutions across the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all commercial functions are delivered to a high professional standard, within agreed timeframes and budgets.


Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract

  • Carry out on-site measurements
  • Produce bills of quantities and/or cost plans
  • Develop supply chain packages
  • Prepare labour schedules for operational teams
  • Procure specialist materials

Post-Contract

  • Procure and appoint subcontractors
  • Monitor and report costs against project value
  • Prepare, measure and agree interim valuations and final accounts
  • Manage and audit subcontractor accounts
  • Maintain strong commercial control across projects
  • Identify value engineering opportunities
  • Prepare subcontractor payments accurately and on time
  • Keep senior management informed on project financial progress
  • Work to strict KPIs including time, cost, and quality
  • Manage early warnings and compensation events where required
  • Support wider commercial and operational functions as needed
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Construction or Facilities Management
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
  • Strong ability to build relationships with clients and supply chain partners
  • Advanced IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies and cost control
  • Experience working with MTC contracts
  • Familiarity with mechanical schedules of rates
  • Experience using QS software (e.g. Barcellos or similar)
