Mechanical Pump Engineer


Location: London & M25


Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 + Door-to-Door Pay + Overtime + Van


The Role

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Pump Engineer to join a specialist engineering team supporting a portfolio of high-profile commercial buildings across London and the M25. You will join a team of 13 engineers delivering maintenance and reactive works across prestigious client sites including major commercial offices and financial institutions. Due to the nature of the portfolio, engineers must maintain high technical and service standards.


This role focuses specifically on pump systems, particularly booster sets and HVAC circulation pumps, rather than chillers, air conditioning, or heat pump systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on booster sets and HVAC pump systems
  • Fault finding and repair of commercial pump systems
  • Reactive breakdown response
  • Remedial works and minor installation projects
  • Servicing and maintaining pumps from leading manufacturers such as Grundfos, Xylem, Lowara, and Wilo
  • Working within plantrooms across large commercial buildings
  • Ensuring all work is completed to high safety and compliance standards

Experience Required

  • Experience working as a Pump Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of booster sets and circulation pumps
  • Experience working on commercial building services systems
  • Experience with pump manufacturers such as Grundfos, Xylem, Lowara, or Wilo
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience with facilities maintenance or building services environments is highly desirable.

On-Call

  • 1 in 8-9 call-out rota
  • Minimum 3 hours pay per call-out

Package

  • Salary: £45,000 - £48,000
  • Holiday: 25 days + bank holidays
  • Pension: 5.5% employer contribution
  • Company van: Nissan Long Wheelbase Town Star + fuel card

You’ll be part of a specialist engineering team delivering services across premium commercial buildings managed by leading facilities management providers. The role offers exposure to high-profile sites across central London, working within well‑maintained plantrooms and modern building infrastructure.
