Mechanical Project Manager | Central London | £80k+

Oxford Circus. £3.4m project. Established contractor with serious momentum.

Skyward Select is working with a growing MEP contractor that has quietly become one of the most consistent performers in the London commercial fit-out market.

They’re delivering ~£40m turnover this year, with 75% repeat business and a pipeline pushing towards £50m+ next year.

They’ve just secured a mechanical plant replacement scheme in the West End, and they need a Mechanical Project Manager to take full ownership.

You’re joining a business that:

  • Is scaling fast but still keeps a tight-knit, “family feel” culture
  • Has strong leadership and structure already in place (clear reporting lines, proper support functions)
  • Defined ambitions, growth plans and sector entries
  • Delivers across high-end commercial CAT A / CAT B projects in London
  • Invests heavily in training, development, and long-term progression

They don’t want a “passenger”.

They want someone who can own a project and grow with the business.

The Project

  • Mechanical plant replacement
  • Oxford Circus
  • £3.4m MEP value
  • April start

Your Role

  • Full ownership of the mechanical package
  • Managing a Mechanical Supervisor
  • Reporting into an MEP Contracts Manager
  • Working alongside an electrical delivery team
  • Driving programme, quality, and site coordination

What they’re looking for

  • Mechanical Project Manager with building services experience
  • Strong commercial / fit-out background
  • Comfortable in fast-paced London projects
  • Someone adaptable, hands-on, and open to being developed

Package

  • £75k – £85k (flexible for the right person)
  • Clear progression as the business scales
  • Long-term pipeline of London work

If you want to be part of a contractor that’s growing properly, winning repeat work, and building something long-term, please apply.

New Edge Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Shaping Edge Innovation

Edge computing is transforming how data is processed by bringing compute power closer to the source of generation. With the proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT), real‑time analytics, autonomous systems, and latency‑sensitive applications, edge computing has moved from a niche discipline to a core component of digital infrastructure. In 2026, organisations that specialise in or heavily invest in edge computing are expanding their teams to build distributed systems, real‑time analytics platforms, and edge‑optimised AI. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.EdgeComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are growing, winning contracts, or securing investment is essential. This article highlights the new and high‑growth edge computing employers to watch in 2026, including UK startups, international innovators with a UK presence, and established companies shifting strategy toward edge.

How Many Edge Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an Edge Computing Job?

If you’re trying to start or grow a career in edge computing, it can feel like you’re navigating a maze of tools, frameworks and platforms — Kubernetes, Docker, IoT frameworks, AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge, OpenShift, TinyML toolkits, networking orchestration, real-time streaming frameworks, and on it goes. Scroll job boards and community forums and it’s easy to conclude that unless you master every buzzword imaginable, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most edge computing hiring managers won’t necessarily say out loud: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every edge computing tool — they hire you because you can solve real system problems using the tools you know. Tools matter, yes — but only when they support clear outcomes: reliable systems, performance at scale, secure edge deployments and real business value. So how many edge computing tools do you actually need to know to secure a job? For most edge computing roles, the answer is fewer than you think — and a lot clearer when sorted by fundamentals and roles. This guide shows you what matters, what doesn’t, and how to focus your time wisely so you come across as capable, confident and employable.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Edge Computing Job Applications (UK Guide)

In today’s fast-evolving tech landscape, edge computing is one of the most sought-after fields — blending distributed systems, embedded systems, networking, cloud, IoT, data and real-time processing. But that also means hiring managers are highly selective. They scan applications fast and look for signals of relevance, impact, technical depth and real-world delivery long before they read every line. This guide demystifies what hiring managers in edge computing look for first in your application — so you can tailor your CV, portfolio and cover letter to jump out of the stack. Whether you’re targeting edge systems roles, embedded IoT edge jobs, edge-native data roles, edge platform engineering or edge-AI positions, this checklist will help you position your experience in a way hiring managers can trust immediately.
