Mechanical Maintenance Technician - Inspection & Packing

Location: Wrexham
Contract: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 2‑shift rotation (6:00 am – 2:00 pm / 1:30 pm – 9:30 pm)


About the Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our Inspection & Packing team at our Wrexham site, home to an MHRA‑approved sterile injectable manufacturing facility.


In this role, you will act as the engineering specialist for inspection and packaging equipment used for pharmaceutical containers, including glass ampoules, vials, and cartridges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for Automatic vision inspection systems
  • Labelling equipment
  • Deep‑draw blister packaging machines
  • Carry out end‑of‑batch and end‑of‑day equipment strip‑downs for cleaning
  • Rebuild and set up machinery following cleaning activities
  • Diagnose faults and perform adjustments to ensure efficient operation
  • Conduct preventative maintenance in line with site procedures
  • Work independently and collaboratively within the team
  • Ensure all activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards

About You

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic engineer with strong mechanical knowledge.


Essential

  • Recognised engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND, or Degree)
  • Experience supporting engineering activities within a sterile inspection & packing environment
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Solid understanding of pharmaceutical engineering and regulatory requirements

Desirable

  • Electro‑mechanical experience
