Mechanical Maintenance Operative

Are you a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Operative looking for a new challenge in a prestigious and historic environment? Join a leading educational institute in West London as part of their dedicated Estates & Facilities team, where your expertise will help maintain iconic Grade-listed buildings and a wider estate thats steeped in heritage.

This is a hands-on, varied role with real purpose you'll be key to keeping the estate running smoothly and safely for staff, students, and visitors.

The role:

Perform routine and reactive mechanical maintenance, including plumbing, small electrical works, and general building services.

Support and deliver the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme.

Supervise on-site contractors and assist with refurbishment and installation projects.

Carry out statutory compliance checks and support audits.

Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to deliver a top-tier facilities service.

What our clients are looking for:

A recognised mechanical qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent) essential.

Solid knowledge of statutory compliance: Building Regs, COSHH, CDM, Asbestos, etc.

Hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance in a building services environment.

Great communication and IT skills, with a proactive and customer-focused mindset.
