Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Nights

Salary: £47,000 to £49,000 per annum + overtime paid at x1.5 & x2.0 AND benefits

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9.00pm to 7.30am (permanent nights)

Location: Commutable from Howden, Hull, Selby, Goole, Doncaster, Brough, York, Market Weighton and surrounding areas

Only 4 shifts per week - Monday to Thursday 9pm to 7.30am

This global heavy plant manufacturing company offers challenging and rewarding careers to their Maintenance Fitters & Engineers, with scope for further training and qualifications, together with development of skills and future progression. With a sizeable team of over 30 Engineers, the company tries to keep all engineering works in-house, minimising the need and use of external contractors, so you really do get involved across the full range of reactive, proactive and project work.

It would suit a Mechanical Fitter or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a background in an industrial or manufacturing environment with ANY/SOME mechanical experience of bearings, shafts, belts, chains, motors, gears, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding (MIG) - please apply.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of various equipment and machinery across their factory, dealing with and overcoming problems in a fast paced environment.
  • Working through a planned preventative maintenance program as well as project and continuous improvement work.
  • There is a lot of future planned projects involving upgrades and refurbishments that all Engineers get a hand in doing.
  • Reactive maintenance, working at pace attending to and resolving breakdowns swiftly and getting production lines back up and running again.
  • Dealing with conveyors, belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
Requirements
  • Time served apprentice or mechanical engineering qualification
  • Experience with mechanical maintenance or mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
  • Machinery maintenance experience
  • Any experience of belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics would be desirable
  • Any MIG welding experience would be desirable
  • Heavy plant/machinery experience would be great but not essential
  • Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
  • Friendly and adaptable working attitude
