We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a reputable organisation. The role is based in Glasgow and involves maintaining and improving mechanical systems to ensure smooth operations.

Base pay range

Competitive salary starting at £45,444 and rising to £47,836 after a successful probationary period.


Description

  • Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in a timely manner to minimise downtime.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and promote best practices within the workplace.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to their implementation.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the engineering team as required.

Profile

A successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineer should have:



  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in an engineering and manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with different departments.
  • Proficiency in using relevant tools and equipment for mechanical maintenance tasks.

Job Offer

  • Competitive salary starting at £45,444 and rising to £47,836 after a successful probationary period.
  • Working a 4‑week shift rotation covering days, backs and nights.
