If you are an experienced Mechanical Fitter looking to work for a leading provider of specialist mechanical and electrical design and build solutions, this could be a good opportunity for you.


My client is looking for ambitious individuals with a strong industrial background to support long‑term projects. Projects range from £5k to £10m, and you will be working on both small and large‑scale projects, acting as a Principal Contractor and Principal Designer, as well as supporting Tier 1 contractor clients. This is a permanent position offering stability and growth within a thriving team.


We have two exciting opportunities for Mechanical Fitters:



  • Thames & Anglian Water region (travel across both regions required)
  • North East England (travel across multiple sites within the region)

Both roles involve site‑based work, travel, and contributing to high‑quality projects in the Water Treatment Sector.


Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical installation works to high safety and workmanship standards.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and complete installations with minimal supervision.
  • Promote and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and industry regulations.
  • Coach and support Mechanical Improvers and Apprentices.
  • Work as part of a motivated team to deliver successful project outcomes.

About You
Essential

  • Strong ability to interpret mechanical installation drawings.
  • Relevant electrical trade qualifications.
  • Industrial installation experience.
  • CSCS, ECS, or CCNSG card.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • High attention to detail with strong technical ability.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and doing things right first time.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to various sites and stay away when required.
  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Desirable

  • SSSTS (or equivalent).
  • EUSR Water Hygiene.
  • Water industry experience.
  • PASMA / IPAF / Confined Space certification.
  • Fitnesstowork medical.
  • Emergency First Aid or First Aider qualification.
