The Role

Fords has a new position for a Mechanical Assembly Fitter within the Production Team. This is a hands-on role for a multi skilled technician who will be responsible for building, setting up and testing of our capping presses and sealing systems.

Key Duties and Skills
  • Mechanical fitting experience of bespoke machinery
  • Ability to manufacture and assemble from Technical/Engineering drawings
  • Understanding of Pneumatics systems
  • Experience in the installation of Motors, Gearboxes, Belts, Bearings, complex assemblies etc
  • Use of various hand and power tools
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations
  • Carry out any additional tasks as required from time to time, provided they are within the competence of the postholder
  • Forklift Driving Experience desirable
  • Working at Height desirable
  • Engineering qualifications / Apprenticeship served
  • Machining skills; such as turning and milling

Remuneration
  • Discretionary bonus
  • Early Friday finish – 37 hour working week (Monday to Thursday 07.45am – 4.15pm, Friday 07.45am – 12.45pm)

  • Site based - Kempston, Bedfordshire.
