Aircraft Mechanical Fitter - Shawbury (Onsite)


£21.05 per hour PAYE / £28.16 per hour Umbrella


6‑month contract, likely extension


Are you an experienced Aircraft Mechanical Fitter looking for your next contract opportunity? Our client is seeking skilled professionals to support their rotary‑wing fleet at their Shawbury site. Key Responsibilities

As an Aircraft Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a vital role in maintaining, inspecting and supporting aircraft operations. Working closely with supervisors and certifying engineers, you'll contribute to safe flight operations, seamless maintenance activity and the smooth running of the hangar.



  • Maintaining, inspecting and supporting operations for a modern military training aircraft fleet.
  • Conducting inspections, repairs and troubleshooting as required.
  • Perform detailed mechanical work across airframe, engine and electrical systems.
  • Contribute to the efficient running of the hangar and overall aircraft readiness.
  • Carry out both line and base maintenance tasks.
  • Support aircraft movement and operate effectively within the hangar environment.
  • Use specialist tools and test equipment to complete maintenance activities.

Requirements (essential)

  • Completed apprenticeship in Aircraft Maintenance or a related aviation discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of engine and airframe systems.
  • Experience in Line Maintenance and Base Maintenance environments.
  • Understanding of flight and airport operations.
  • Ability to use specialist test equipment relevant to aircraft systems.
  • Must be eligible for DBS and SC clearance.
