Mechanical Fitter


First Achieve Engineering are working in partnership with a global engineering organisation specialising in advanced thermal processing and vacuum technology systems.

We’re looking for a time-served Mechanical Fitter to join their growing team, working on the build and assembly of high-spec, bespoke engineering equipment used worldwide.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with over 60 years of engineering excellence, offering long-term development and career progression.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Mechanical assembly and testing of complex industrial systems
  • Working across:
  • Water systems (manifolds, pumps, pipework)
  • Pneumatics (valves, airlines, devices)
  • Vacuum systems and pipelines
  • Inert gas systems (stainless steel pipework)
  • Fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical systems
  • Inspecting components to ensure quality standards
  • Supporting pressure and vacuum testing (training provided)
  • Occasional on-site installation and repair work


What We’re Looking For

  • Time-served Mechanical Fitter
  • Experience working with stainless steel, copper, and mild steel
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Flexible approach and willingness to develop


Desirable (not essential):

  • Brazing or basic welding experience
  • Hydraulics knowledge
  • Forklift / scissor lift licences
  • Confined space training
