The Role

Are you ready to put your mechanical expertise to work where it truly makes a difference? We’re looking for Field Service Engineers who can help us drive efficiency and reduce costs across our operations. In this role, you’ll take on hands‑on tasks such as like‑for‑like replacements of pumps, mixers, valves, flow meters, pipework, and electrical actuators, as well as tank repairs and asset decommissioning.


This is a hands‑on, multi‑skilled role that demands flexibility, the ability to work independently, and readiness to operate in confined spaces. You’ll also contribute to both capital and operational projects, ensuring mechanical assets are designed, installed, and maintained to meet performance and reliability standards. Participation in an out‑of‑hours standby rota is part of the role.


Here’s how we reward your skillset:


If you’re bringing one core skill to us (Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation) you’ll start on a salary of £38,462, but if you’ve got both disciplines, you’ll earn £44,320.

Role Accountabilities

  • To implement an efficient Mechanical maintenance and installation service.
  • To analyse faults, rectify and ensure correct operation of Mechanical systems‑based equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
  • To ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and internal company policies.
  • To maintain required financial control of a pre‑defined budget.
  • To provide reliable, accurate and complete asset performance and repair information for entry into corporate systems.
  • To analyse and recommend solutions to recurring maintenance problems.

Essential Skills & Experience

To be considered for a role as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer:



  • You must be a time served apprentice or equivalent, supported with academic qualifications to a minimum of NVQ level 3.
  • A full UK driving licence is required for the role.
  • Industry experience.
  • The ability to work in a team but also alone, and sometimes in confined spaces.
  • Able and willing to diversify into specialised areas of maintenance, as required, such as chlorine gas systems.
  • Diagnostic, organisational, planning, communication and computer skills.
