Mechanical Engineer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join a world leader in advanced manufacturing technology. This is a global engineering powerhouse with decades of experience, and you’ll have the chance to work at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility alongside a team of specialists within R&D.

You’ll be providing mechanical and opto-mechanical design support for an extensive product portfolio, involved in the creation and modification of CAD models to resolve issues across manufacturing, assembly and quality. Key responsibilities will include:

• Primary point of contact for the operations team, working alongside NPI and production departments, dealing with design-related production issues.
  
• Management/execution of engineering changes which may include obsolescence, supplier changes and quality updates
  
• Maintenance of BOM’s, and knowledge of FEA, thermal analysis and fluid dynamics
  

• 
  
• Minimum 4 years’ experience within a mechanical design function, as part of hi-tech engineering and manufacturing business, working on a complex product range
  
• Degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering
  
• Technical exposure to mechanical related tools, including 3D CAD, DFM and FEA analysis
  

• 
  
• Experience working on product through their entire lifecycle
  
• Specific industry experience within industrial laser systems, fibre-optics and electro‑mechanical technology
