Role Summary

Mechanical Engineers with onsite installation experience to support EDF’s Hinkley C nuclear power station construction project.


Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD). 4 days on site, 1 day from home.


Start: September 2025 onward.


Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 plus £1,500/month travel allowance. Security clearance required.


Responsibilities

  • Onsite installation of mechanical systems.
  • Understand construction sequencing of mechanical/electrical installation.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and BIM models.
  • Deal with multiple stakeholders.
  • Progress from hands‑on trade roles to supervisory/site management roles is ideal.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical systems onsite installation.
  • Proven track record of progressing from hands‑on trade roles into supervisory or site management positions.
  • Knowledge of construction/installation industry.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing of electrical and mechanical installation.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly in a site environment.
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive, report on and escalated relevant issues.
