Salary range – £45,000 to £57,000


Location- Crowborough, East Sussex (Hybrid)


About the Opportunity

  • Translate customer requirements into detailed mechanical designs
  • Deliver DFx, ensure standards compliance, and perform design calculations
  • Support prototyping, testing and validation of electro‑mechanical systems
  • Conduct FMEA and reliability assessments
  • Select materials and collaborate with suppliers
  • Produce technical reports and documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and follow QMS and 5S practices

About You

  • A collaborative team player and problem solver who takes real ownership of their work and embraces continuous learning
  • Proven industry experience in mechanical product design
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to own tasks through completion
  • Knowledge of standards compliance and reliability engineering methods
  • Strong expertise with SolidWorks (or another CAD package, with the willingness to transfer to SolidWorks)
  • Experience with environmental and functional testing of electro‑mechanical systems

Desirable skills and experience

  • Experience with DriveWorks – would be of great interest
  • Model Based Definition, PDM systems, SAP variant configuration
  • Experience with hazardous‑area product design
  • Use of FEA, CFD or ray‑tracing tools (eg, COMSOL, TracePro)

Education / Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Or a related scientific (Physics/Chemical Engineering) degree with relevant hands‑on mechanical engineering experience in industry

Location: Crowborough, East Sussex, UK


Hybrid Working: During the initial six months, the successful candidate will be onsite five days per week. After this period, a hybrid working pattern can be adopted, with a minimum of three days per week onsite.


Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, 38 hours per week.


Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (flexible start and finish times)


Salary range – £45,000 to £57,000


Servomex considers several factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
