As part of Connect Plus Services (CPS)—the Joint Venture responsible for operating, maintaining and continually improving the M25—you will contribute to the safety, performance and future resilience of a network that keeps our capital moving. What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that Mechanical and Electrical engineering solutions across the M25 are safe, compliant and fit for the future. You will lead technical reviews, challenge proposals, guide design decisions and champion engineering excellence across a diverse range of renewal and improvement schemes.

You will work collaboratively with designers, consultants, contractors, National Highways and internal teams to develop compliant, innovative and buildable solutions. From concept through to construction, you’ll help shape projects that directly enhance the performance of the network.

Your work will include coordinating multidisciplinary designs in complex environments such as tunnels, ensuring integration across systems and disciplines. You will also support CPS in developing long‑term renewal strategies, improving design processes and driving continual improvement across our engineering activities.

This is a hands‑on, influential role where your leadership, technical insight and problem‑solving skills will help deliver projects that make a real difference to millions of road users.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working on Mechanical and Electrical engineering projects.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and high standards of technical accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the DMRB, MCHW and relevant British and European standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • A genuine passion for design and problem‑solving.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body.
  • Professionally qualified or actively working towards professional qualification.

This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximise team collaboration on the project, we offer flexible working where you will typically be working from your base CPS office, Leatherhead, Dartford or South Mimms up to three days per week and two days from home.
