Mechanical Door Fitters - £36,000 to £38,000 + Allowances


Base Location: Port Talbot (must arrive by 6am daily)


Are you an experienced Mechanical Door Fitter looking for stable, long‑term work, great team culture, and consistent weekly travel allowances? This role offers varied project work across UK military sites, with all travel arranged as a team from Port Talbot.


What You\'ll Be Doing

  • Installing and maintaining mechanical door systems on secure and military sites
  • Travelling nationwide with the team Monday to Friday
  • Occasional Sunday travel when an early Monday site meeting is required
  • Working safely, professionally, and in line with site security requirements
  • Representing the company with a high standard of workmanship and reliability

Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
  • Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • Overtime available after these hours
  • Team meet point: Port Talbot, 6:00am sharp each working day

Pay & Allowances

  • Salary: £36,000 - £38,000 (DOE)
  • £25 tax‑free overnight allowance (Airbnb accommodation provided)
  • £100 per week additional allowance for staying away from home
  • All travel arranged as a team

What You Need

  • Valid CSCS card - essential
  • DBS check - essential (due to work on military sites)
  • SSSTS or SMSTS - beneficial but not essential
  • Previous experience in the construction industry
  • Proven mechanical door fitting experience
  • Ability to reliably reach Port Talbot for 6am departures
  • Strong work ethic, teamwork, and willingness to work away from home
