Design Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Cheddar. We offer an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
Develop 3D library for standard plant items
Liaising with clients on design details - quality control/validation of manufactured designs
Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications
Prepare & check bill of materials
Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects
Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, accredited in CSWP/CSWE is beneficial
A good understanding of 2D CAD packages i.e. AutoCAD is desirable
