What You Will Do

  • Conduct stress analysis, fatigue evaluations, and design calculations, including non-linear FEA, to ensure the structural integrity of bridging products.
  • Write test specifications, acceptance criteria, and detailed reports to meet customer and legislative requirements.
  • Oversee both in-house and outsourced engineering activities, performing design reviews and ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Liaise directly with customers to verify project scope and deliverables while managing project programmes, workload, and resources.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve data from non-conforming products while driving problem-solving initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Comprehend specified design criteria and ensure all work aligns with applicable standards and specifications.

What You Will Bring

  • A degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and Chartered Status with a recognised institution.
  • Expertise in structural behaviour, material properties, and proficiency in FEA simulation tools like ANSYS.
  • Experience with Eurocodes, structural integrity assessments, and fatigue evaluations.
  • Familiarity with fabricated aluminium and steel production processes, as well as technical documentation such as drawings and specifications.
  • Strong skills in 3D modelling software, design validation through simulation and testing, and knowledge of strain gauging.
