  • National Grid Person Location: Cilfynydd Substation, Pontypridd
  • Job Type: Temporary (Inside IR35)
  • Start Date: 16/03/2026
  • End Date: 25/09/2026
  • Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (45 hours per week)
  • Rate: £300 per day
  • Positions Available: 1
  • Overview: We are currently recruiting for an experienced M&E Mechanical Fitter to join the team on a National Grid substation project at Cilfynydd Substation.

Please note: This role is determined as Inside IR
35. Limited Company payment is not a compliant method.


Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical fitting and installation within a high-voltage substation environment
  • Supporting M&E installation works in line with project specifications
  • Working as part of a coordinated site team under site supervision
  • Operating in accordance with National Grid safety rules and procedures
  • Supporting and supervising lifting operations (Lift Supervisor ticket required)
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality on site

Essential Requirements

  • Valid National Grid Persons (NG Person) authorisation
  • Valid Lift Supervisor ticket
  • Relevant mechanical fitting qualifications and competency tickets
  • Previous experience working within National Grid or transmission substation environments
  • Full and correct PPE prior to site attendance (mandatory)
  • Please do not apply if you do not hold the required tickets and authorisations.

Additional Information

  • 45 hours per week
  • Inside IR35 engagement
  • Candidates must be able to comply with site drug and alcohol policies
