Western Branch Diesel, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for all levels of Marine Technician/Mechanic at our location in Portsmouth, VA. This individual can be looking to start their career or have previous experience as a technician. Indel Power Group is a distributor/dealer for major brands such as mtu, Detroit Diesel, Allison Transmission, Cummins, Caterpillar, Volvo Penta, Freightliner, Western Star, Isuzu, Autocar, and Crane Carrier to name a few. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
  • Use OEM software, tools, and technologies to maintain, diagnose, and complete repairs to promptly address and resolve customer vehicle or equipment concerns
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness
  • Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes

Physical Demands

Technician roles are physically demanding and require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds (or more) may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the Technician will frequently use hands to manipulate and grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, or twist to perform repairs and inspections. Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. A technician may work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes.
