Job Purpose

To primarily carry out Inspection activities in support of operations and asset management tasks. This is a hybrid role and will also require the successful applicant to support mechanical fitting activities when Inspection tasks are not required.

To primarily carry out Inspection activities in support of operations and asset management tasks. This is a hybrid role and will also require the successful applicant to support mechanical fitting activities when Inspection tasks are not required.


To manage all inspection equipment ensuring equipment is maintained to a high standard and remains calibrated and fit for purpose.


To complete work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard, while following company procedures and maintaining equipment and workplace integrity.


Key Duties

  • Dimensionally inspect goods received and manufactured to tight tolerances utilising a variety of measuring equipment.
  • Create inspection reports in line with company procedures
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings to measure and inspect mechanical components.
  • Carry out measurements to confirm specified tolerances and surface finishes.
  • CMM / Faro arm operation.
  • Calibration of Metrology / Measurement equipment including upkeep of electronic register.
  • Use hand and power tools safely for bench fitting, marking off, and assembly tasks.
  • Operate small plant and equipment such as band saws, pedestal drills, and guillotines.
  • Use inspection tools to check work meets quality standards.
  • Complete work order cards, inspection records, and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Follow project timelines and deliver work within set deadlines and quality standards.
  • Carry out lifting operations safely, including using overhead cranes as required.
  • Support the operations and asset management teams with technical knowledge and practical assistance.
  • Carry out mechanical fitting support on site as requested.
  • Maintain high standards of workplace housekeeping and equipment care.
  • Adhere strictly to health and safety rules, company procedures, and legislation.
  • Stop any work that falls short of required company standards within work areas.

Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Proven track record of carrying out inspection activities in a similar engineering sector
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to mechanical fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings.
  • Understanding of relevant codes, standards, legislation, and company procedures.
  • Hands‑on experience with mechanical trade tasks: bench fitting, marking off, grinding, and inspection.
  • Basic commercial awareness in relation to project work.
  • Basic creative problem solving and innovative thinking skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Good teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Competency in the safe use of hand and power tools, including small industrial machines.
  • Experience with safe lifting operations and use of overhead cranes.
  • Awareness of quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Proactive attitude toward supporting company health and safety and quality standards.
  • Willingness to perform site work as required.
