HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician Required Location: Ballyclare Salary: £18-£22 per hour (Depending on experience) Hours: Full-time & Permanent About the Role Reed Recruitment are delighted to be working with our client based in Ballyclare who have a requirement for an experienced and dedicated HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop. In this role, you'll carry out diagnostics, servicing, repairs and maintenance on a range of heavy commercial vehicles, always ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-established and respected dealer network Key Responsibilities Complete all jobs from general servicing to fault-finding, electrical repairs, strip-downs and rebuilds Ensure all repairs follow manufacturer procedures and Standard Times, using specialist tools where required. Assist with the diagnosis of faults and carry out effective repair solutions. Comply with warranty processes throughout and after repair work. Work closely with the parts department to ensure correct parts are fitted. Road test vehicles where required (HGV licence holders only). Assist with roadside breakdowns when necessary. Report all defects to the Workshop Supervisor. Accurate completion of service sheets, job cards and company time-recording processes. Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are properly used and stored. Wear PPE in all relevant situations. Support and mentor apprentices and trainees as needed. Required Criteria A flexible and positive attitude - duties may change at short notice. Ability to work independently without supervision. Polite, friendly and professional manner when dealing with customers or delivering/collecting vehicles. Strong communication skills, both internal and external. Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable with working hours. Excellent punctuality and reliability.
