Our client, based in Redditch, is seeking a motivated HGV Mechanic to join their team working on a fleet of road sweepers. No previous experience with sweepers is required, as full training will be provided for the right candidate. This position is perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a practical, hands-on approach to mechanical work. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team and offered the opportunity to develop valuable industry skills. Overview

  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on a fleet of road sweepers to ensure vehicles remain in safe and reliable working condition.
  • Diagnose mechanical and technical issues, assisting with repairs under the guidance of experienced team members as training is provided.
  • Perform basic electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical tasks, gradually developing skills specific to sweeper systems and components.
  • Complete required paperwork, service records, and defect reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team to prioritise workloads, support breakdowns, and maintain a clean and organised working environment.

Requirements

  • ?Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience in HGV or vehicle maintenance (experience with sweepers is not required).
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a workshop environment.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated to develop a long-term career in vehicle maintenance.

Salary & Benefits

  • Monday-Friday - 7:00am-5:00pm - Paid breaks
  • £15-£17 starting rate with view to go up once trained on sweepers
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Company vehicle once training completed
  • Pension
