We at XPO are a driving force behind many industries in the UK. You have probably seen our trucks on the road networks, and some you may not have even realised were ours. To keep our business ahead, we need a crack team of Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to service and maintain our fleet.

Were looking for an experienced HGV Fitter/Mechanic to join us at our site in leigh. You'll be working a night shift pattern and play a vital part in ensuring that our fleet is always maintained, serviced and safe.

Were looking to offer a guarenteed 48 hours giving you a competitive salary of £51,548 . Youll also receive 20 days holiday, rising to 25, plus bank holidays, access to a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

What youll do on a typical day:

  • Carry out MOT preparations, servicing and repairs on our fleet of HGVs
  • Diagnose faults on vehicles
  • Work on Rigids, Tractors and Trailers
  • Knowledge of tail lifts an advantage
  • Stripping, fitting and replacing components

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Proven experience in an HGV Fitter/Mechanic role
  • Relevant HGV mechanic qualification, such as BTEC or City & Guilds (desirable)
  • A full UK driving licence with C+E entitlement (desirable)
