Graduate Mechanical Engineer, £27k - £32k, Bourne, Peterborough

  • £27,000 - £32,000 salary guide + pension + 25 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
  • Well-established engineering business designing and manufacturing mobile cabins and associated products for the construction sector, with new product ranges recently introduced.

Are you a Graduate Mechanical Engineer looking to kick‑start your career and gain real responsibility from day one? Do you enjoy solving practical engineering problems and seeing your designs move from idea through to production in a growing manufacturing environment?


Your background as a Graduate Mechanical Engineer:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, ideally with exposure to manufacturing or fabrication environments through projects, placements or internships.
  • Comfortable using 3D CAD software (Creo ideal, but SolidWorks, Inventor or similar is absolutely fine).
  • Curious, proactive and keen to take ownership of projects and develop your skills in a hands‑on engineering setting.

Graduate Mechanical Engineer responsibilities:

  • Interpret design briefs and help develop practical, manufacturable engineering solutions.
  • Produce detailed drawings for machined and fabricated components.
  • Support projects through the full design process – from concept through to production.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials and technical documentation.
  • Contribute ideas towards product and process improvements.

This Graduate Mechanical Engineer position is commutable from Peterborough, Melton Mowbray, Newark‑on‑Trent, Bourne, Grantham, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas.
