Are you an early-career Firmware Engineer, recent graduate, or junior embedded systems engineer looking to develop your skills in a practical engineering environment? You'll support the development of advanced load monitoring and measurement solutions used across demanding industries worldwide. From wireless sensor boards and load cells to monitoring systems, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on varied projects and gradually build your confidence across the full product development lifecycle.

Build products used across industries including marine, construction, energy and infrastructureKey Responsibilities:

As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you'll support the design, development, testing and maintenance of embedded hardware and firmware solutions, including:

Supporting the development of clean, reliable and maintainable embedded firmware using C and C++

Learning to work with PIC and other microcontrollers, including bare-metal and real-time operating system environments

Assisting with algorithms, low-level drivers, peripheral interfaces and communication systems

Supporting schematic capture, PCB design, prototyping and validation activities under guidance

Working with interfaces and protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, RS232/485 and OneWire

Developing products such as load cells, wireless sensor boards and monitoring systems

Working with engineers from firmware, hardware, mechanical, software and production teams to understand complete product solutions

Testing prototypes and investigating hardware and software faults using laboratory and diagnostic equipment

Supporting new product introductions, production testing and documentation activities

Maintaining and improving existing hardware and firmware platforms

Helping to produce and maintain technical documentation including test procedures, production notes, BOMs and design records

Collaborating with internal teams and learning how engineering projects move from design into productionWhat we're looking for:

We're looking for a motivated early-career engineer with an interest in embedded systems, firmware and electronics. You may be a recent graduate, have completed an internship or placement, or have gained practical experience through personal, academic or professional projects.

Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related discipline

Minimum 1 to 3 Years of experience in the embedded systems development environment.

Basic knowledge of C and/or C++ programming

Some exposure to microcontrollers, embedded systems or electronics through work, study or personal projects

Interest in bare-metal firmware, real-time operating systems and low-level embedded development

Willingness to learn about low-level drivers, microcontroller peripherals and embedded communication interfaces

Awareness of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, RS232/485 or similar would be useful

Interest in analogue, digital or RF circuit design

Some familiarity with schematic capture or PCB layout tools would be advantageous

Exposure to EDA tools such as Pulsonix, KiCAD or similar would be helpful, but training can be provided

Ability or willingness to learn how to use oscilloscopes, signal generators and other diagnostic equipment

Interest in EMC/EMI requirements and electronic product compliance

Familiarity with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Zigbee or cellular technologies would be advantageous, but is not essential

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a collaborative approach
