Band 6 Experienced Physiotherapist – Elderly Care

This is a fixed‑term/secondment post to April 2027.

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to join our team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading on a fixed‑term/secondment basis for 12 months to cover maternity leave. We are looking to employ a skilled, forward‑thinking, dynamic individual as an Elderly Care Physiotherapist. We have recently been accredited as a University Department of Elderly Care.

The post is suitable for a physiotherapist with experience working in elderly care. The post will require working across the Elderly Care department, working with individuals with a variety of complex needs and within a heavily integrated team. Weekend working (via a rota) will be included.

The successful applicant will have Elderly Care experience and possess assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment skills. You will have sound IT skills and demonstrate the Trust’s values of Compassion, Aspiration, Resourcefulness and Excellence.

  • To be a Senior Physiotherapist delivering patient‑centred, caring therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (RBFT).
  • To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work, including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, with support from your supervisor.
  • To use your physiotherapy knowledge and skills to provide specialist support and advice to the Multi‑Disciplinary team and to manage your own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.
  • To deliver a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in the Therapy team.
  • To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
