Electronics Engineer

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Engineer to join growing Engineering company based in Romsey.

Introduction

The role of the Electronics Engineer will primarily involve designing and maintaining the sites electronics products, working to progress the hardware products on low power electronics, high sensitivity analogue electronics and embedded software development. This will involve developing existing products and also developing new ones.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the engineering team to develop innovative electronic products and embedded systems software.

  • Maintaining current suite of PCBs and helping to deal with part obsolescence.

  • Solving complex electronics and engineering problems.

  • Development and maintenance of custom production and manufacturing equipment which will be used to increase the workflow.

  • Investigating existing hardware and how it can be utilised in other ways

  • Documentation of projects including reporting of progress

    Ideal Skills & Experience

    Proactive mindset and great communication skills - you will be a valued member of the teams, ideas, feedback, problem solving and trouble shooting skills will be required.

    Having an understanding and or interest in sensors and low power electronics would be a major advantage

  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or related.industry, ideally 5+ years experience.

  • Circuit design, multilayer PCB layout, and schematic interpretation experience.

  • Strong understanding of analogue electronics, operational amplifiers, low power design, and EMC considerations.

  • Skilled in fault-finding across electronics, sensors, and embedded software.

  • Proficient in C programming with handson experience developing embedded software solutions.

    Desirable

  • Some experience with technical writing and documentation.

  • Interest / experience in mechanical design or CAD software.

  • Interest / experience in automated calibration.

  • Any experience with IOT or telecoms components.

  • Any knowledge of RF antenna PCB layout best practice.

  • Good soldering and hands on capability or open to learning.

  • Experience in various programming languages such as C++, C#, Python, PHP etc.

    Salary

    £42K - £48K

    Hours

    Monday to Friday (Flexible working hours - also Hybrid working options)
