Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Electromechanical Fitter to join our expanding team in Sheffield. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of rotating machines, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and within agreed timescales. This is a varied and hands-on role that will see you working both in-house and on customer sites, supporting projects and emergency works as required.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect, strip, and disassemble rotating machines including AC/DC electric motors
  • Carry out high-quality repairs with a focus on first-time fix
  • Undertake basic electrical testing to establish machine condition
  • Accurately assess and record wear, damage, and repair requirements
  • Inspect and fit bearings, including white metal bearings
  • Support balancing activities (experience advantageous)
  • Prepare and assemble machines ready for test runs in line with QA standards
  • Produce accurate notes, reports, and paperwork to required deadlines
  • Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Deliver exceptional levels of customer care and communication
  • Provide support on site projects and respond to emergency works (including overnight stays when required)
Your Skills and Experiences
  • Recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering (C&G, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within an electromechanical environment
  • Hands-on knowledge of rotating equipment, root cause analysis, and precision measuring
  • Experience with bearing inspection and fitting, including white metal bearings
  • Ability to use industry equipment correctly and safely during the repair process
  • Methodical and accurate approach with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Flexibility to travel for short durations to support customer sites
  • Full UK driving licence (advantageous)
  • Positive attitude to personal and site safety
